Who ya gonna call?

Today’s technology is defiantly something else. I think it makes things so much easier.  I love constantly being connected to people and the internet. It’s a great way to interact with your friends and look up and learn stuff off of the internet. I think if you are connected to people threw smart phones it helps you socially in public. I have changed a lot since I have all these gadgets at my side. I know that if I need to know something I can just pull my phone and Google it. Everything is easier for us and we might be a littler lazier for it. I talk to a lot of people on social networking sites and because of this I have more friends and know more people. My iPhone and social networking sites are the two major ones that have influenced my life the most. Sometimes it gets a little overwhelming to us because we’re always on our phones or computers. I do use my phone a lot but I have gone without it for months sometimes and I don’t hurt too badly from it. So I don’t think I’m addicted to my phone that much.

Merit pay

I think teachers do not get paid as much as they should get paid, so anything that they can do to deserve more money is a good thing in my eyes. I think that they should get paid a minimum rate even if their tests scores are bad. They should at least get that and there merit could be like a bonus or commission type thing.  I don’t think that it should all be based on just on test scores because they may just get a group one year that’s bad. They could try their best and their test scores might not change at all. This wouldn’t be fair to the teacher if he didn’t get paid as much when he tried his best. If they did have a merit system I really do not know how they would grade it. It could just be solely based on standardized test scores. If you do it any other way there is always going to be a way to cheat the system to get more money. Personally because of this that they won’t make merit pay for teachers official.  Hopefully they can give a bonus or raise their salary to make them work harder or something. Because without good, hardworking teachers, what will the world come to in the next generation.

My blog idea about nature would be what people’s opinions are about mountain top removal for coal.

Charities for Africa

I think Huntington High School and other charities should give money to both globally and local people in need.  There are many people that need help just around the corner here but there are thousands and thousands over seas that are in desperate help too. Maybe one year we should do one for Huntington’s needy and the next year do one for Africa and just switch off each year. It would be really cool if we got together twice a year and collected money for both Africa and Huntington that way we can for sure satisfy both. The reason I say we should do a global charity and not just locally is because we give so many chances to people to get food and try to get back on their feet. Like homeless shelters and things like that. They can go inside whenever they want and get food, shelter, and clothing. In places like Africa they don’t have any opportunities like that. They just do what they can to make them and their children survive. There are many people in this world that need help and I would like to see more fundraisers to help out everybody. Its just the right thing to do.  

love

Love is something that people have been trying to figure out for forever now, and probably will figure it out. It is just a complicated feeling that is very difficult to explain. I think you can fall with anybody as long as you can get along with them well and you spend a lot of time with them. I don’t believe that anyone has a soul mate out there waiting for them. Love seems to be everywhere and in everything. It is a huge part of our lives. I guess that’s just how we’re meant to be.
I think love is when you constantly think and care about someone that you attracted to. It is that constant feeling you get when you’re with that someone. The want to always be with that someone. I think love is both a feeling and a choice. You could probably love someone if you really wanted to by spending a lot of time with them but it might not be the same type of love as if you fell in love with a unexspecting someone. When it comes to marriages I think it should be based solely on love because it would be hard to be married to someone if you weren’t with them because just because you love them. That’s what I think about love but its just to much of a complicated thing for me understand everything about it.  

Dumbest Generation

No I don’t think we are the dumbest generation like Bauerlein's book says we are. We do rely on technology and we do use it to make things easier for us but I don’t see how that makes a less smart. We have different ways of getting our information than other generations did. In 100 years from now will people be saying that we had it hard and that they are lazy because of advances in technology? Different generations have different ways to get there information than others. It just so happens it keeps getting easier for us that’s all. I think it’s pretty smart that we can store our information and then be able to get back to it if we need it. Makes sense to me! I see myself as a pretty hard worker, technology just makes things that much easier for me which is always good. I think technology just helps us get more accurate data faster which helps us be as smart as we can be! I really don think there is a “Dumbest Generation”. I think each generation does the best that they can with the technology that they have and that there has not been a dumb generation yet.  

iI say speak!

I think that Ozzie Guillen can say whatever he wants to. Although it was wrong what he said I still think he should be allowed to say whatever he wants to. It is his right to say whatever he wants and whatever he believes in. I think he has the right to do that. I also think that he said it a funny or joking manner and wasn’t being serious about it. He probably just said the wrong thing at the wrong time when he was joking and it backfired on him. He was just trying to be funny and really wasn’t thinking about what he was saying. Since he lives in an area where there are a lot of Cuban-Americans everybody took it offensive and got really upset at the Miami Marlins manager.  Because of this the marlins are pretty much forced to do something about it. He got a 5 day suspension and can possibly be fired. I really don’t think this is the way to go about this. He should maybe get suspended for a game or two because he is the spokesmen of the team and represents a bunch of people but that’s it. He has the right to say what he wants but sometimes it’s not the best idea to do when you’re famous or speak for a group of people.
